- These are characters that Elizabeth & Michael rolled for randomly using my tables. They developed their own sidequest.
- What is this character’s name? - Elizabeth's character is named Rock. Michael's character is named Folio.
- What is their ancestry (i.e. human, elf, dwarf, halfling, etc)? - Rock is a deathlock, formerly a human warlock who serves an archfey patron. Folio is a Vedalken.
- What is your job or role (i.e. farmer, hierling/mercenary, shopowner, bandit, etc)? - Rock is a cobbler. Folio is a coin minter.
- How old are you? - Rock is an elder, so he's been undead for quite a while. In true Vedalken fashion, Folio is immortal, as he is continually striving for perfection.
- Describe your physical appearance. - Rock does have the whole skeleton look, long flowy blue robes -- which look worn and very old, but they have been patched and well taken care of. Ancient looking clothes, doesn't want to have to get new clothes or get used to them. Rock has VERY nice boots and has an assortment of tools hanging off his belt. Folio works in the financial industry, so he dresses very pressed and proper, very sharp, wears the equivalent of a suit or something similar thereof.
- Describe yourself with 3 adjectives. - Rock is Ancient, Imposing, Suspicious. Folio is Smooth, Observant, Clean.
- What is a valuable item/piece of lore/secret that this character possesses? Or do they value an ideal/concept or particular person (i.e. family member, guild member, honor, justice, love etc.) - Rock knows the best hunting spots for deer, which helps him to get the necessary leather to make these penny loafers and other kinds of shoes. Folio ascribes to the concept of Self-Betterment.
- What is a particular quest you would be willing to recruit or hire the player characters to go do? - Rock and Folio have formulated a business partnership. Together, they have developed "Penny Loafers", shoe wallets to stick your coinage inside! Rock has enchanted the loafers (secretly at the behest of his archfey patron and unknown to Folio) to make wearers more susceptible/roll at disadvantage to the Command spell (you have to roll a saving throw in order to take off the shoes because they are CURSED) and they enhance the effects of the proprietary magic coins that Folio has developed. Otherwise, the idea is to wear the shoes and hold minted coins that feature the images of the nearby, ruling monarchs. Folio knows how to make "valkuda coins", or magic coins that will enhance one Ability Score by +1. So placing the valkuda coins inside the loafers, you gain an additional +1 to your Ability Score -- for example, in the Random Encounter Section, Duncan used a Coin of Strength and a Coin of Accuracy, so Duncan got a +2 to Strength and a +2 to Dexterity -- This pair needs someone to go out and market the regular loafers and the royally-minted coins in the town and sell AT LEAST 10 pairs of loafers and royally-minted coins.
- What would be their reward for succeeding? - If you successfully market the shoes and sell at least 10 pairs of shoes and royally-minted coins, Rock & Folio will gift the players with their own pair of penny loafers, loaded with some valkuda coins. The idea is that now regular people will buy the shoes and royally-minted coins, and adventurers will be inspired to spend the EXTRA money to get loafers with valkuda coins!
- What would be the consequence of failure or refusing the call? - If you fail to market and sell at least 10 pairs of shoes and royally-minted coins, then your local rivals/enemies will be given loafers with valkuda coins to enhance their abilities. While Rock & Folio were hoping for a clean face to market their shoes, your enemies/rivals were gung-ho to undertake this challenge, and Rock & Folio have no problem equipping them.
